Men Dancing Naked on Top of a Police Station

Here is a picture long awaited. I took these pics a long time ago, but was unsure if I should post it, also my pictures were badly taken then. They are little better now.

Anyway there is nothing like a bunch of naked men dancing on the roof of a building to get my imagination running. Especially when it is a police station. Hmm there are so many connotations that I will just leave it to your imagination. And why the heck do they have an empty triangle on their bellies? Reference to the pink triangle maybe?

Created by the renowned architect Manuel Nunez Yanowsky, we are looking at a new new classical approach to a building where the architect has made a salutation to the Hausmanian architecture. The sculpture(s because they are copied 15 times) is a reproduction of Michaelangelo’s “The Slave” aka ‘The dying Slave“. Here is what the architect has to say about the sculptures:

“Application of the sculpture method has not only ideological, but also aesthetical role – it serves a rich decorative feature, giving to the ordinary building an instant identity.”

You can read more about this building on the architect’s own page here.

Three of the pictures of the pictures are courtesy of Google Street view and Maps.
